Excess comma after "based".  You could lose both commas, really.

"Modern" is particularly pointless alongside "AJAX", a word invented
barely two years ago.  This is one of those hyphenless "AJAX based"
apps I mentioned last week, but why do they need the word "based"?
What's in it that doesn't count as "pure" AJAX?

And then there's "skinnable", which for me always has unwelcome
associations - "skinning" something is peeling its skin _off_.  But
that's the word people use, so never mind, just drop the commas:
