After a few talks with Jordi on IRC (nickname Oskuro, if you need it, Alastair), it appears that my own bug report (which just changed encoding) added a bit confusion to this topic. The encoding change is not enough. There were some errors in the way words were translated, so you definitely needs to apply the newt.ca.po file Jordi sent originally and just forget about the one I sent in #251811 --
