You should be aware that Koppix is no "distribution" but a Live CD
based on a mixture of Debian testing and Debian Sid AKA unstable.
Therefore you will not have any security updates....

Next week or so, Debian Jessie will be release as "stable". Therefore
I propose to give Debian Jessie a chance, after Jessie is released,
you will have Debian stable;-).

Debians rules are quite strict, some call them "paranoic", the default
installation is strict free open source, if you need to install a
closed source driver, have a look at this page:
