Re: Remastering Knoppix (NTFS 3G cloop patch for Knoppix 7.0.2)

Installing the right 64-bits libs should allow you to compile/run most 64-bits programs under 7.0.2 without remastering. (Which in itself may not change the basic setup a lot - rebuilding a "pure" 64-bits version is an entirely different task from simple remastering.)

You may need to replace packages with versions from testing or unstable, but there is no need to remaster for that purpose.

In my own limited experience, installing the right libs is far to prefer over creating a "pure" 64-bits version - which seems to be much more difficult than it was with Knoppix 6.4.4.

I have read in the forum about the problems with 64bit compiles;
Is there any way to fix the problem without a full remaster?
I was planning on using Knoppix for this.
Thanks
Charles
