Re: DVD recording of Knoppix 5.3.1

I use www.Imgburn.com on my wife's machine.
It is free to use. It's meant to use with iso files. So that
eliminates alot of problems that stem from people copying the file to
the dvd instead recreating a dvd from an iso image file.

I would also try lowering your burn speeds if imgburn leaves you a
coaster when used on Auto for speed selection. (4x in Dvd is not the
same as 4x in cdr. On a regular old machine AMD 2400+ I restrict burns
to 2.4 or 2x with dvds.)

Also you can try using different media. +R -R depending on the drive you have.
I have an old Pioneer 106D (I think that's what it is...) that could
burn to media but could not read what it just burned. I then stuck
that disk in another drive, a LiteOn ,and it was seen by the drive! So
without knowing more about what kind of failure you are having... I'd
say to use imgburn... and if slowing it down doesn't work, and you
have checked the md5sum of the iso file... checked the drive cable
etc, different media is about all that is left. I'd google your drive
model, and find the best media for it. If it works best with +R, then
get some Verbatim +R. (I did for my... best with +R drives.)

What drive do you have?
