Hello,

have you been answered to this question.
I probably encounter the same problem.
I recently installed Knoppix 4.0.2 on my HD and when X starts, the mouse 
(usb) is very slow.

So, if anybody had a tip to solve this problem I'm really interreste, as 
this behavior is really, really annoying
