Re: [debian-knoppix] Knoppix 4.0 plans & "call for software": knoppix.sh

Hello,

I would appreciate you including the following alias
alias lt="ls -ltr" in /etc/profile.

And if you could move knoppix.sh to the toplevel directory (of the
DVD+RW). This would allow knoppix.sh to be changed without making a new
image.

An other thing that might be useful is not executing only knoppix.sh but
all *knoppix.sh. That would allow the knoppix.sh on a modified KNOPPIX
to be identified more easily. I have several, like server.knoppix.sh,
samba.knoppix.sh and ssh.knoppix.sh. Then just by doing "ls" I could
tell which one I have put on DVD. Even combining them would be more
easy. If I have samba.knoppix.sh and ftpd.knoppix.sh and
apache.knoppix.sh I do not have to move then into one knoppix.sh any
more.

Well these things could now be performed by a special knoppix.sh, but
maybe other people would like that without making a new image. It is a
point of discussion. That is why I have not yet mailed it at
knoppix-request;-)

Here is how I put my knoppix.sh on DVD+RW:

dvd+rw-format -force /dev/sr0
growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/sr0=KNOPPIX_V3.8.2-2005-05-05-DE.iso
growisofs -R -J -M /dev/sr0 /root/bin/knoppix.sh

BTW: I do appreciate that you are starting X without -nolisten tcp. I
can easily access the monitor with x2x :-))

Thanks for V3.8.2! I have just downloaded. It is great.

Achim
