[debian-knoppix] How can I change the kde-style permanently?

Dear Reader,

I use Knoppix as a demo-CD for my program samt (spatial analysis and modeling 
tool). This CD will be used by students and scientists. If I use the default 
KDE-style there is a bit odd behaviour of samt. If I change the style to an 
other samt works fine. Where is the location to change the styles 
permanently? Many thanks
