printing across the network
I want to print from my backup PC to the printer attached to my
production PC.
The backup PC is running rh 8.0. The prod PC runs knoppix 3.3.
I don't know if I've set up the printer properly at the rh 8.0 PC I
chose 'UNIX printer', as 'local printer' did not sound right. For
'queue' I typed in 'esc84' because I don't think it matters what you put
there. For 'server' I simply typed in the IP address (192.168.0.1). I
can PING the two PCs from one another.
The driver I chose was under 'epson c80' (I guess the c84 was not around
when rh 8.0 was released) -- the driver itself is the postscript ijs. I
tried a postscript test and it sent but did not print.
The printer works fine at the prod pc.
Any ideas?
