No, that is not the same. You want to boot Knoppix from a hard disk
partition just like from CD. I think this is called "poor man's
install". The initrd doesn't need to be modified for this.
Just boot vmlinuz and miniroot.gz (take both files from the Knoppix
boot floppy image) with loadlin.exe / LILO / whatever and use the
standard boot options. Make sure that the KNOPPIX cloop file is
accessible on a vfat partition (directory KNOPPIX containing the 700MB
file KNOPPIX).
