[debian-knoppix] boot ext2 on vfat

Hi,

i'd like to know if it's possible, if anybody thought/tried, to boot
from a virtual ext2 partition (containing the system) wich is file on
vfat ? The file could be created from a knoppix-cd during HD
installation process onto the local Windows/vfat filesystem, using dd
for exemple, then formated with mke2fs, then mount and copy the system
inside. With this method it wouldn't be necessay to format (or resize
with parted wich is dangerous) the system to test how knoppix works when
it's installed.

Maybe this could be done with grub ? Or using a MS-DOS program to fire
the kernel up before booting Windows, or when quitting Windows to go
back to a pure MS-DOS 32-Bit mode ? I remember BeOS did someting like
this. Then removing Knoppix would be as easy as removing a file.

Regards.
