[debian-knoppix] LinuxTag 2003 - DVD Betatest closed
Hi,
The LinuxTag-DVD is on its way to the manufacturer, and the betatest
phase is closed now (please stop sending betatest password requests,
btw. ;-).
Thanks to all of you who have tested the Beta image and sent bug
reports and suggestions in time! Sorry I had no time to answer all of
them, but most (quick) changes should have made it into the final image.
Some of the reported problems (bad/strange menu entries, some programs
crashing on exit, alpha software) were not fixable in the short time,
but overall, I think that the DVD edition is working well. I also added
openoffice-1.1-beta2, lifting the installed data to over 4GB quite at
the last second. The desktop managers have been expanded to xfce4 (which
now seems to work as expected), gnome and enlightenment.
Some of the suggested packages and software had to be rejected because
of patent/license problems, sorry.
I will continue work on the download CD edition as soon as possible,
which probably means after LinuxTag 2003 because of a very busy
schedule.
