Why first launch a Samba Server, and not just putting the tools on a
separate directory on the DVD, that can be read under Windows?

Uhm, I would feel better if you DID check the GPL/Free Software
(NOT "Shareware") status. ;-)

What about a "Windows" directory on the DVD that contains Free Software
for Windows users as well? It could contain your aforementioned tools,
plus maybe Apache, OpenOffice or other OpenSource software that is
also available for Windows.

We have to archive the sources for these software packages for 3 years,
following the GPL, though, so source availability is a MUST.
