more seriously though, i really haven't been following this whole EU
software patent thing as closely as i should have.  i'd like to hope
that there are some sane minded people in charge, but i guess it wouldn't
be any different from here if there weren't.

if this guy is serious, better get in touch with the EFF.  I don't
think this guy would be able to hold up in court for even a second if
you could get that kind of firepower--and they might save you a trip to
the poor house to boot.  I can't say i know anyone there personally, but
i get the suspicioun that they'd love to have a case like this because
it'd be so easy to set a precedent in a very all-encompassing Our favor.
