& is SHIFT 6 on german keyboard:-))

I don't know which version you are using, but on CD show be a file called boot-en.img
 mount /dev/sr0 /mnt
 ls /mnt/KNOPPIX
....
boot-de.img boot-en.img  boot.img
....

use 

dd if=/mnt/KNOPPIX/boot-en.img of=/dev/fd0

to make a new floppy

umount /mnt

and boot from floppy
