I don't run a "build system". I chroot into a partition. I build
Knoppix while running Knoppix from a CD. I wouldn't get a good
representation of access times because my file systems are mostly 
read-only and the access times don't change on a read-only 
file system oder?  To say that your sort list would be no good to
anyone else ignores the fact that you are using that very list for
everyone that downloads Knoppix. People report that the original
Knoppix CD boots faster (actually, KDE starts faster) than 
a customized one. I suspect that this is because of the sorting
of file names that occurs before mkisofs is run.
