I have been running KNOPPIX-3.1-2003-01-20 both from CD and from
the hard disk without problems. I have installed it on HD both
with reiserfs and with an ordinary ext2 filesystem. I do not
have a USB storage system, so I cannot comment there.

I have two different machines with two different RealTek 8139
ethernet cards. One of them is new, the other is 4 1/2 years old.
Knoppix 2003-01-20 works perfectly with both of them, both in
the CD variant and on the hard disk.
