[debian-knoppix] session management

Hi,
how can I save my session in order to be able to work with the	same window setup as before the last shutdown?

I tried to do
K -> System -> Screen -> Save -> Beforelight .
But this option saved a specific session and now always starts with the same. I wanted to get only the last used window setup, if possible.

BTW, it there a web page where I can find more information on how the hardware detection and hardware setup work? Which files describe this process and where will the hardware settings be saved?
