[debian-knoppix] Kernel 2.4.20

Hi All ,
      I am putting already compiled kernel for RTLinux into 
knoppix CD ..
     But it is not able to boot..
    I have read the Custom Kernel Howto ..
  But it does not help..
Is there any extra setting required ??
 i.e. Compiling kernel with patches etc..???
