[debian-knoppix] adding mkpersistenthome

I am trying to add mkpersistenthome back into knoppix but seem to be running
into a few issues:

1- I want root to be the user what needs editing?

2- In terms of the encrypted filesystem what packages need be present? It
errors out due to a cypher missing.

3- If I am using a 3.1 version does the kernal need upgrading? Or just
boot.img?

I also have one other small question. Since knoppix will autodetect and use
an excisting swap partition. Is there a way to have it recognize it but NOT
utilize it unless user intervention activates it? I know it should be
possible, but have over thought it to the point of being perplexed. Users
can always use 'swapon' but just curious now. I would like this option for
when the CD is being used for forensics. Such as during boot once one is
recognized it prompts user if it should use it.

Thanks for any help,
Jascha
