[debian-knoppix] Kernel panic

hi!

I just tried out knoppix 2003-09-05. I get the same kenel panik as on 
2003-07-25:

Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereferenced ar virtual adress 0000000
 *pde = 00000000
 Opps:0000

[... CPU registers here ...]
<0> Kernel panic: Attemt to kill init !

this happens just a second after tux apears on the screen.

any ideas? This maschine has a p3/500.
