[debian-knoppix] Updating a hard drive install

Hello,

Just wanted to find out what everybody thought about ways to upgrade a
Knoppix installation to the latest version after an installation has
been performed using the knx-hdinstall script.

Some of the ideas that were thought up include:
(Knoppix upgrade:)
	1) wipe everything ignoring any current data, resetup everything
	2) simply dump all new data over current data (potentially overwriting
current config files)
	3) Knoppix upgrade CD of deb packages
	4) use upgrade repository or CD of upgrade repository packages
	5) copy all important data to temporary location, blow away, put
important data back (if necessary)
	6) apt-get remove all packages, dump new CD in place

Keep in mind that this was thought up for the situation where most of
the people using Knoppix do not have high speed Internet access to be
able to just point their apt sources at the current Knoppix repository
and upgrade that way.
