[debian-knoppix] Display

MabelHello,

Have been trying to get Knoppix to run correctly.  I had thought that the
graphics card was at fault, but when I boot with
   knoppix-txtxrefresh=60
the text appears fine.  I think that it accepts my video care {Virge], but
the screen won't stop scrolling.  How does one stop scrolling?  Is it
possible that my monitor is at fault?
