[debian-knoppix] Sound problem......
Dear people,
I've installed Knoppix and works fine. I've also installed NVIDIA
drivers. I can't manage to get working my audigy sound card.
A)First I tried to insert emu10k1 module with modprobe:
/lib/modules/2.4.20-xfs/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o:
init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.20-xfs/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.20-xfs/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-xfs/kernel/drivers/sound/emu10k1/emu10k1.o: insmod
emu10k1 failed
B) Then I tried to compile emu10k1 from the driver source code and it
say that there is an error.
C) The only way to have it working is to install OSS, that's commercial
and it's a demo for 3 hours (and then?)
