Seit 14.02.2003 ist es stable raus :-) vorher nicht ...
Vielleicht sogar als debian packet? Da wo auch ntfsfix drauf ist?!
Feb 14, 2003: Stable ntfsprogs 1.7.1 released, including mkntfs, ntfsfix, ntfsinfo, ntfslabel, ntfsresize, ntfsundelete and libntfs. You can download the package from the project's download page. The statically linked ntfsresize binary have been also updated.
Feb 13, 2003: ntfsresize update: if a certain part of the filesystem consistency check failed then warning messages had a chance to be bogus or missing. Thanks to Michael Rolig who helped to spot this.

Nein ein Reboot erfordert es wohl scheinbar nicht!
Ich habe gestern "Mandrake 9.1 Release Candinate 1" aus selbigem grund getestet (isos kann man ja frei runter laden.) z.b. da : (ftp://ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/Mandrake-iso/i586)
Da ist ntfsresize schon komfortabel grafisch umgesetzt! Und es funktioniert schlicht und ergreifend ohne probleme trotz das bei mir M$ Dot Net Server RC2 Installiert ist.
Es funktioniert also auch stabil auf dem "neusten" NTFS.
:-)
Sonst hätt ich nichts gesagt, Fat + FAT 32 Partitionen lassen sich ja schon lange unter Linux "resizen" jetzt auch NTFS ... Das währe ein suupper + Punkt an Knoppix wenn wir das einbauen könnten!!!
+ ein Wunsch von vielen Usern ;-)
Wir können eine ISO mit ntfsresize ja auch erst mal wieder nur ins Testing Verzeichnis legen? Wenn zu viele unsicherheiten sind! Aber der Autor stuft es offiziell als STABLE ein.
Und wenn selbst Manderake es nutzt ;-)

Feb 19, 2003: Mandrake 9.1 Release Candinate 1 is out, integrating the last week released, stable ntfsresize 1.7.1 and polished the nice graphical disk partitioning tool, DiskDrake. During installation the non-destructive NTFS partitioning options are either regaining the unused space on Windows by the Partitioning Wizard or "Custom Disk Edition". In both cases the user can choose the unallocated size, if NTFS resizing is feasible. The distribution and ISO images are avaliable from several mirror sites.
