No, you did it not make clear. You just asked for an option how to prevent
people from having to type in: knoppix noeject ...
And I had an solution for you ...
Now this all makes sense and I understand, what you want ...
A dirty hack, I had would be to use:
reboot -f
To reboot hard and so reboot the rescue-system ...

Here are the sources of the halt and reboot-utilities, which do the waiting
for the keystroke ...
And you were right, it is always asking for keystroke, so I understand your
problem now ...
