I tested on 1 system and can confirm that installing and removing an older kernel works with the new release whilst auditd is running.

If you are affected by this regression where kernel hang on loading
auditd rules: The fix will be available in the upcoming point release,
but it would be welcome if you can test the update in advance (builds
are now available and in bookworm-proposed-updates).
