Package: firmware-intel-graphics Version: 20250410-2~bpo12+1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, After upgrading firmware-intel-graphics from 20240709-2~bpo12+1 to 20250410-2~bpo12+1 I noticed errors in the i915 module that also caused the display to flicker and shut down. Moreover, X11 sometimes hung fatally (uninterruptible sleep => only fixable by reboot). Downgrading firmware-intel-graphics to 20240709-2~bpo12+1 resolved all issues for me so far. I am using kernel 6.12.30+bpo-amd64 on an Intel Atom E3826 with integrated graphics. Excerpt from dmesg with buggy firmware: [ 455.245008] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* flip_done timed out [ 455.245042] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* [PLANE:32:primary A] commit wait timed out [ 455.349035] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 455.349061] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] vblank wait timed out on crtc 0 [ 455.350524] CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 9 Comm: kworker/0:0 Tainted: G W 6.12.30+bpo-amd64 #1 Debian 6.12.30-1~bpo12+1 [ 455.350555] Tainted: [W]=WARN [ 455.350565] Hardware name: CINCOZE DA1000/DA1000, BIOS 5.6.5 09/26/2018 [ 455.350580] Workqueue: events drm_mode_rmfb_work_fn [drm] [ 455.351013] RIP: 0010:drm_wait_one_vblank+0x1f0/0x210 [drm] [ 465.488572] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* [CRTC:53:pipe A] flip_done timed out [ 475.726563] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* flip_done timed out [ 475.726597] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* [CRTC:53:pipe A] commit wait timed out [ 485.967334] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* flip_done timed out [ 485.967370] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* [CONNECTOR:86:HDMI-A-1] commit wait timed out Do you need a full dmesg or more information about my hardware? So, it was probably a kernel issue (although I don't know why downgrading the firmware package had worked, too). > > So, I guess we can close the issue. OK, closing.
