Package: src:linux
Version: 6.6.13-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

This happens to me on a somewhat regular basis on two different
computers that have Intel WiFi controllers (iwlwifi): I suddenly stop
being able to connect to WiFi, NetworkManager repeatedly reports
"Connection activation failed", restarting NetworkManager and
wpa_supplicant don't help, only rmmod'ing iwlwifi and iwlmvm and then
modprobe'ing iwlwifi restores functionality.

Two recent examples of when this happened:

1) Connected to wired ethernet, disconnected from WiFi, enabled WiFi
hotspot, disconnected from ethernet, turned off hotspot, laptop is now
unable to reconnect to wifi.

2) Told laptop to suspend, I have a script that runs on WiFi suspend
that delays suspend until it finishes, script took a long time so it's
possible that the laptop decided to suspend before the WiFi was finish
suspending, woke laptop later, laptop is now unable to reconnect to
WiFi.

I suspect I can probably reproduce this somewhat at will using one of
the two scenarios above, so if there's any data I can collect when
this happens which will help troubleshoot, I am all ears.

Hi

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.

If you can reproduce it with

- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports

please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
for details.

Regards,
Salvatore
