Package: buildd.debian.org
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I upgraded my ThinkPad T560 from Debian KDE Buster to Bullseye.
Most of it works very well.

Except, after a shutdown, the device does not turn off.
The last messages stop on the screen and nothing happens anymore ( <= 8h).

The error occurs with kernel 5.10.0-5-amd64 + 5.10.0-6-amd64.
When testing with a kernel 4.19.0-14-amd64 (was still installed on the machine) everything is okay.
A fresh installation with Bullseye (on another hard drive) is again flawed.
The error occurs regardless of the way I shut down the machine (KDE Starter Menu or Terminal shutdown -h, systemctl poweroff, systemctl syspend).

A restart works, but it takes about 2-3 minutes after the last message.

I could switch back to Debian Buster if necessary, but I fear that the bug will also be included in the Bullseye stable.

The following message is displayed at the end (Only the last lines):

[ ok ] Reached target Shutdown
[ ok ] Reached target Final Step
[ ok ] Finished Power-Off
[ ok ] Reached target Power-Off
[49414.375090] rmi4_physical rmi-00: failed to read irqs, code=-6

Hi

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.

If you can reproduce it with

- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports

please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
for details.

Regards,
Salvatore
