Package: linux-image Version: 5.7.0-1-amd64After I updated my system with an i7-9800X, the system would no longer boot. At first the system would hang at GDM with no keybopard or mouse input.
I noted that there was a microcode update & applied it. After that, the system will get almost to GDM & kernel panic.I have tried both 5.6.0-2 & 5.7.0-1 with the same results. Kernels earlier than 5.6.0-2 will boot normally, this includes 5.6.0-1 & the 4.19-X series. This problem happened after the CPU upgrade, the prior CPU (i7-7800X) booted normally with all kernels installed on my system but this was with the prior microcode, as I can not test that CPU with the current microcode. For some reason I have problems with Reportbug, so I have reported this way. Please advise of any other information needed.

Hi This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself without resolution. If you can reproduce it with - the current version in unstable/testing - the latest kernel from backports please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control for details. Regards, Salvatore
