Bug#1086054: linux: Enable DRM_ACCEL in amd64
Source: linux
Version: 6.11.4-1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,
Please enable the Compute Acceleration device configuration DRM_ACCEL on amd64.
This framework provides support for compute acceleration devices, such
as, but not limited to, Machine-Learning and Deep-Learning acceleration
devices
Currently in the BTS https://bugs.debian.org/1079170, was asked to enable
DRM_ACCEL_HABANALABS and DRM_ACCEL_IVPU, but both depend on the
Compute Acceleration Framework (DRM_ACCEL), and the later was not enabled.
Therefore Habana's AI Processors (AIP) and Intel NPU (formerly called
Intel VPU) are not enabled.
DRM_ACCEL is a menuconfig option so it is safe to said =y here.
A MR was created with this proposal at:
https://salsa.debian.org/kernel-team/linux/-/merge_requests/1246
Thanks,
Miguel Bernal Marin
