Files are not removed on 'upgrade', can you post the log where this
has happened to you?

then
    rm -f /var/lib/nfs/etab   \
          /var/lib/nfs/rmtab
fi

I would like to understand how/when /var/lib/nfs/etab got removed on
your upgrade.
