Sometimes boot stops indefinitely. The following messages appear:
i801_smbus transaction timeout
i801_smbus failed terminating the transaction
i801_smbus SMBUS is busy, can't use it
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I have tried blacklisting the i2c kernel module. It was ineffective.
