There has been more interest in this feature. The following ITP is for
the user space part of the feature:

Do you believe there is a chance to have the driver enabled by default
in a near future? Otherwise, is it possible or a good practice to
package the module alone and offer it as package to the people that want
to use/experiment with it until we have it built in? I could try to do
that if it is a good approach.
