I still think the upstream kernel should do something with the 'new' use of 
the cypress directory as I described in my mail to the ML(s).
But the cause for the breakage is actually a (Debian) packaging change and I'm 
about to revert that ...

... as this was likely less of a 'workaround' and more a 'solution'.
