The update bumping ABI to 17, 5.10.136-1, was the one introducing
mitigations for RETbleed on AMD (CVE-2022-29900) and Intel
(CVE-2022-29901) processors.

The noticable performance drops vary differently depending on the
affected CPU.

If you do not need the mitigations in your particular case, disable
those. Does performace measured improves again?

The call depth tracking mitigations mentioned in the above thread did
then land in v6.2-rc1.
