Version: 4.19.67-2+deb10u2
Severity: critical
Tags: upstream
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
Upgraded Debian from 9 to 10.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
Have tried various module options, also have tried not using bonding.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
Driver soft-lockup, causing overall system instability and unusability.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Driver should work with existing harware.

Actual failure looks like this in dmesg:

except that there are thousands of bnx2x error messages. Those interfaces cannot pass traffic. The interrupt storm or dmesg flood or something also renders the system unusable even through unaffected interfaces.
These interfaces worked fine in Debian 9 mid-way through its lifecycle, but the current packages failed. I opted to try upgrading to 10, but this still fails in Debian 10. (I don't know the version of the last unaffected kernel, sorry - we were way behind by accident, and jumped a year+ in kernel versions.)
I've found multiple issues around the 'net relating to this, all noting essentially the same behaviour.
A regular "reboot" is inadequate to reboot (within 24hrs, anyway), I have to issue a "reboot -f".
