Bug#1009320: linux-image-5.17.0-trunk-amd64: vlc (un)able to load broadcasters list depending on which kernel the system is booted from

   * What led up to the situation?
Opening VLC and then trying to open a list of broadcasters (dvb-t). It fails
with  linux-image-5.17.0-trunk-amd64 but succeeds with linux-image-5.17.x. It
is reproducible.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

Open VLC (on CL) and then from the VLC file menue "open file", select list,
then "open". Nothing happens. No error message in CLI. On second attempt:
"cache_block stream error: cannot pre fill buffer"

This is reproducible. No problem with 5.16.x kernel on very same installation.

A diff of lsmod output between 5.16.x and this kernel will be added by mail.
