Re: Bug#1008760: upgrade-reports: Mouse touchpad elantech broken edge scrolling after upgrade to bullseye

Control: reassign -1 src:linux

Hi Umut,

After asking around, the suspicion is that this is mostly likely due to the kernel, hence I'm reassigning to the linux source package. If this was wrong, the kernel maintainers can hopefully help to point where it should go.

Hi debian maintainers!

As by upgrading from buster to bullseye as also by using bullseye live image I
have about 70% of touchpad width acting as edgescrolling area.

I tried the debian 11 gnome and kde images and in both the same effect.

At first I thought that the mouse would not work at all.

But than I realized, that it just was in that area in scrolling mode.

Only if I start to touch it at the remaining left area the mouse pointer worked
as before.

If I do so I can also swipe to the right most areas of the pad.

That means that between buster and bullseye something got broken. Either from
linux kernel or the firmware for elantech.

So for now I switched back from bullseye to buster again until this gets fixed.

Hope this happens until EOL of buster.

Kind regards.
