The patch is also available via 'lore' here:
https://lore.kernel.org/all/20221020034809.506525-1-alexander.deucher@amd.com/

I'd like to add that the two patches did not work for me either (Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U). After patching the source, I built and installed the 5.10.0-19 kernel, but it did not help at all, after some hardware inits, the display input was suddenly gone and I had to do a forced shutdown again.

The last lines from /var/log/kern.log before it froze:

Oct 20 16:41:43 tasha kernel: [ 10.742172] amdgpu 0000:07:00.0: [drm:amdgpu_ring_test_helper [amdgpu]] *ERROR* ring sdma0 test failed (-110) Oct 20 16:41:43 tasha kernel: [ 10.742242] [drm:amdgpu_device_init.cold [amdgpu]] *ERROR* hw_init of IP block <sdma_v4_0> failed -110 Oct 20 16:41:43 tasha kernel: [ 10.742245] amdgpu 0000:07:00.0: amdgpu: amdgpu_device_ip_init failed Oct 20 16:41:43 tasha kernel: [ 10.742247] amdgpu 0000:07:00.0: amdgpu: Fatal error during GPU init Oct 20 16:41:43 tasha kernel: [ 10.742250] amdgpu 0000:07:00.0: amdgpu: amdgpu: finishing device.

Afterwards, I booted my freshly built 5.10.0-19 kernel with "nomodeset" and was able to log in via X, but the two displays attached to my laptop did not work, only my internal panel.

I hope this helps, if there's something additional I could contribute, please let me know!

Best regards
Christoph Zechner
