Bug#1014451: firmware-brcm80211: brcmfmac mmc0:0001:1: firmware: failed to load brcm/brcmfmac43455-sdio.txt on a Raspberry Pi 4
Package: firmware-brcm80211
Version: 20210315-3
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: cquike@arcor.de
I have installed pure Debian on a Raspberry Pi 4 and the kernel shows
this error messages at boot:
jul 06 11:57:25 alcatraz kernel: brcmfmac mmc0:0001:1: firmware: failed to load brcm/brcmfmac43455-sdio.Raspberry Pi Foundation-Raspberry Pi 4 Model B.txt (-2)
jul 06 11:57:25 alcatraz kernel: firmware_class: See https://wiki.debian.org/Firmware for information about missing firmware
jul 06 11:57:25 alcatraz kernel: brcmfmac mmc0:0001:1: firmware: failed to load brcm/brcmfmac43455-sdio.txt (-2)
jul 06 11:57:26 alcatraz kernel: brcmfmac: brcmf_sdio_htclk: HT Avail timeout (1000000): clkctl 0x50
The package firmware-brcm80211 does provide a file
brcm/brcmfmac43455-sdio.bin but not a .txt file. I have not seen any
hardware issue, but I am not using wifi and indeed "ip a" does not
show a wifi device, so I guess that for those users using WIFI in
a Raspberry Pi 4 this would be critical.
