If I understand the forwarded thread correctly, the reported symptoms went
completely away by updating firmware files from https://github.com/RPi-Distro/
firmware-nonfree/tree/master/brcm on 2021-03-29.
Those files belong to the firmware-brcm80211 package and the latest version in
the Debian archives is 20210818-1.
Are the symptoms also gone with that updated Debian package?

I also saw mentions of a potential fix wrt MMC, but I don't know if a fix was
eventually merged (upstream).
It would be useful to know whether a newer 5.10 kernel or (even better) the
5.18.2-1 kernel from Unstable changed anything wrt this bug if there was
indeed (also) a kernel component to this issue.
