Dear Maintainer,

My laptop rarely suspends when the lid is closed. The kernel always
seems to detect the lid open and close events but doesn't always forward
them to the event devices.

Checking /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID0/state in a loop while opening and
closing the lid always shows the state correctly changing between "open"
and "closed".

$ ./test_lid.sh
2021-06-24T11:42:00-04:00
state:      open
2021-06-24T11:42:01-04:00
state:      open
2021-06-24T11:42:02-04:00
state:      open
2021-06-24T11:42:03-04:00
state:      closed
2021-06-24T11:42:04-04:00
state:      closed
2021-06-24T11:42:05-04:00
state:      closed
2021-06-24T11:42:06-04:00
state:      closed
2021-06-24T11:42:07-04:00
state:      open
2021-06-24T11:42:08-04:00
state:      open

evtest reports the following on a rare successful suspend.

$ sudo evtest /dev/input/event7

systemd-logind did record this event:
Jun 03 18:01:37 strider systemd-logind[676]: Lid closed.

Below is what I normally see while listening with libinput and
opening/closing the lid.
