Package: linux-image-3.2.0-1-486
Version: 3.2.6-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Upgrading from Squeeze to Wheezy on a PC Engines Alix 3C2 [1] results in an
unbootable system.

Enabling a serial console, I am able to see that the boot sequence hangs
indefinitely during /dev population.

----log----
INIT: version 2.88 booting
Using makefile-style concurrent boot in runlevel S.
Starting the hotplug events dispatcher: udevd.
Synthesizing the initial hotplug events...done.
Waiting for /dev to be fully populated...
----log----

Downgrading again to the Squeeze 2.6.32-5-686 kernel allows the system to boot
correctly. It might be worth mentioning that 2.6.32-5-686 generates a lot of
repeated messages about the cs5535 chip upon boot. I have disabled these by
blacklisting the snd_cs5535audio module.

----log----
Failure writing to cs5535 codec
Failure reading codec reg 0x3c,Last value=0x0
Failure writing to cs5535 codec
Failure writing to cs5535 codec
Failure reading codec reg 0x1c,Last value=0x0
----log----

Thanks,
Jon

Hi

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.

If you can reproduce it with

- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports

please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
for details.

Regards,
Salvatore
