I tried to get dell signature with following
sudo -i
echo "options i8k force=1"  >  /etc/modprobe.d/i8k.conf
echo i8k  >> /etc/modules
exit

but the same error after reboot.

During poweroff and reboot:
system hangs with last text message:
[ OK ] Reached target Swap.

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.

If you can reproduce it with

- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports
