Package: kernel-package
Version: 13.014+nmu1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainers,

kernel-package suggests docbook-utils that depends on jadetex that depends on texlive-latex-base
in order to build some (actually the only one) .tex file included in the kernel documentation,
but the current texlive cannot build the .tex file.

$ cd linux/Documentation/cdrom
$ ls
00-INDEX  Makefile  cdrom-standard.tex  ide-cd  packet-writing.txt
$ make
...
...
[15]
! Undefined control sequence.
l.1012 ...nel~2.0.  Further thanks to Heiko Ei{\sz
                                                  }feldt,
?

The use of {\sz} in cdrom-standard.tex has existed since 2007, thus the current texlive cannot build the documentation of any recent kernel versions since then.

Hi

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.

If you can reproduce it with

- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports

please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
for details.

Regards,
Salvatore
