Package: udev
Version: 164-3
Severity: normal

This iBook (lshw output attached) has onboard audio. however, when
booting from a fresh squeeze install, aplay -l reported no audio
devices available.

I found that if i manually ran:

 modprobe -v snd-powermac

Then i could use the audio device.

Could udev have detected this and loaded the module automatically
somehow? I saw the same behavior on an eMac recently as well. I can
provide more information about the hardware in question if you tell me
what you need to know.

Thanks for udev, it's great!
