Package: src:linux
Version: 4.3.3-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

Since the upgrade to kernel 4.3, the machine becomes unresponsive after
a few hours (keyborad frozen, blank screen) necessitating a hard reboot.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

The machine boots, and it is possible to work normally.
I use the KDE environment (plasmashell, kwin_x11) and quite for some time
(i.e. with earlier kernels too) in multisession setups, it causes high CPU
usage by the kwin_x11 process on the unused terminal.

After some time, the system starts to massively swap even though I do not
use additional resources. It usually happens during the night.
The only user applications were: KDE desktop, a few "Konsole" terminals,
"chromium" web browser.

>From this point, the HDD thrashes constantly although there is 8GB RAM.
[The sound reminds of the old days when 8 _MB_ was a lot...]

Here is a snapshot of the top of the "top" screen:
