Package: src:linux
Version: 4.9.110-3+deb9u4
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

I noticed messages like this in syslog:

[drm:intel_pipe_update_end [i915]] *ERROR* Atomic update failure on pipe
A (start=7921 end=7922) time 163 us, min 1788, max 1799, scanline start
1784, end 1802

They appear periodically and I don't see any pattern in timing or
relation to what I am doing.

No functionality seems to be affected and there are no visual artifacts
that I can see.

Searching for the error led me to suggestions to add i915.enable_psr=0
to kernel boot parameters. That didn't make a difference. Also, even
without it 'cat /sys/module/i915/parameters/enable_psr' shows 0.

I installed intel-microcode package and it didn't help.

Hi

This bug was filed for a very old kernel or the bug is old itself
without resolution.

If you can reproduce it with

- the current version in unstable/testing
- the latest kernel from backports

please reopen the bug, see https://www.debian.org/Bugs/server-control
for details.
